The seventh International Museums Weekend special event will take place on 16 and 17 June 2007.

Radio amateurs are encouraged to participate in this event by setting up stations in their local museums.

The COBRAS are affiliated to the ISWL, so this station will count for the Monitor award in the normal way.

The original plan was to operate from Blackhead lighthouse. This has now been shelved. They will instead be operating from the SS Nomadic, which is currently moored beside the Odyssey.

The SS Nomadic was built at the same time as the Titanic and is currently being restored in Belfast.

So if you are QSL'ing direct, please consider adding an extra Dollar for the restoration funds, it will be greatly appreciated.

Any applications they receive between now and 1 December 2006 will be forwarded directly to Ofcom.
The RSGB advises all amateurs planning to either renew or apply for their licence to wait until 1 December 2006.
